2017 Skin of Color Symposium
The Skin of Color Symposium 2017: Bench to Bedside is designed to disseminate and communicate the latest research on skin conditions that disproportionately impact minority populations. We are pleased to host the 5th event in a series of biennial symposia, in partnership with the Hampton University Skin of Color research Institute and Department of Dermatology at Eastern Virginia Medical School. An outstanding roster of speakers has been assembled for this year’s event who, through a series of plenary sessions and interactive panel discussions, will address the latest developments in the diagnosis and management of selected conditions, including:
  • Vitiligo
  • Hidradenitis Suppurativa
  • Melasma
  • Disorders of Pigmentation
  • Alopecias
  • Skin Cancer
The conference will take place from November 10-12, 2017 at the Lansdowne Resort and Spa in historic Leesburg, VA.

 Rising Stars Travel Grant Competition
This year, we are pleased to introduce the Rising Stars Travel Grant Competition. Residents, fellows and medical students are invited to submit abstracts of their work for the 2017 Skin of Color Poster Exhibit. The most meritorious poster awardees will have the opportunity to present their work during the general session on Saturday or Sunday. The authors of the abstracts selected for oral presentation will EACH be awarded a travel grant that will cover 2 nights stay at the Lansdowne Resort and travel expenses (coach airfare, mileage reimbursement, etc.)
